| Lavette was a good girl. She loved
following me around the yard and being in the rabbit
barn with me. She considered the rabbit barn as
hers. When I was not around she would not let anyone
near it. Her nick name was Vettapup. She was
always ready to please and loved to be petted. We
had a good life together. I was very close to her.
It broke my heart the day I had to say good bye. It
was on a Sunday and I notice Lavette was not herself
and she was passing black liquid. I called a vet who
was a close friend of mine and she said bring her to
the vet hospital and I will meet you there. We
arrived at the hospital and took Vetta in. After
Doctor Sharon ran some tests, she said Lavette is
having kidney failure, that is why she is passing
the black liquid. She said at her age of 12 there is
nothing I can do. Her body is shutting down. I would
suggest to let her go and do not let her suffer. I
stood there not knowing what to do and not wanting
to make the decision that I knew was best for my
Vettapup. Dr. Sharon let me spend some quite time
with her to say my goodbyes. It hurt to have to say
goodbye, she was such a good girl and a very good
girl. As I stood there telling her how much I loved
her and the wonderful years we had I let my girl go
in peace. |
